Pattaya’s best accommodation / resorts:
Just a couple hours southeast of Bangkok, Pattaya is an easy getaway from the mega-metropolitan for a bit of sun and sand. The beachside city is infamously known for its go-go bars and nightlife scene, although a welcome range of family-friendly attractions and activities are steadily popping up. With over five million visitors annually, this beach town on the Eastern Gulf of Thailand has luxury hotels and a wealth of fine dining too. So that’s why we’ve put together a list of Pattaya’s best accommodation / resorts:
Amari Ocean Pattaya
The Amari can be found in northern Pattaya, an area that’s a little quieter than the hubbub of downtown and Walking Street. There are eight room types to choose from, including the most illustrious pick, the Executive Club Suite Ocean View. It’s floor-to-ceiling panoramic views, kitchenette and lofty living area (all on the Amari’s top floor) are simply divine.
Centara Modern Grand Mirage Beach Resort
This five-star resort has the perfect location for a beach lover: right on Wong Amat and Naklua Beach, so that each of its 555 rooms and suites all face the ocean. Its architectural “Lost World” theme is also really cool, with two massive cliffs connected by rope bridges and a cavern with jungle and waterfalls leading down to the water’s edge. It’s Thailand’s only themed resort with direct beach access – your Instagram followers are going to be jealous!
Although the Hilton Pattaya is located in the heart of the beachfront city, it’s a total escape from the action. The outdoor infinity pool is set amongst landscaped gardens and a relaxation area with panoramic views of the beachfront. We especially recommend their restaurant Drift, serving Carribean cocktails and tapas, or the rooftop champagne bar, Horizon for the most memorable of dining experiences.
InterContinental Hotel Pattaya
If you’re set on soaking in the sun and getting served by waiters poolside, the Sheraton is exactly where you need to be – they’ve got three outdoor swimming pools, and an awesome menu of freshly-squeezed juices, Thai-inspired cocktails, smoothies and tapas.
This luxury hotel on the southern tip of Pattaya Bay is the perfect halfway point between Walking Street and Bali Hai Pier. With 270 rooms, this accommodation can best be described as an oasis, boasting a tennis court, five international restaurants and three bars.
