Celebrating the distinct characters of the Kingdom’s five main regions
Now as you know, Thailand is a magnet for tourists, welcoming millions of visitors each year to experience its unique culture, people and landscapes. To help celebrate the tourist industry and to promote it further, the the Tourism Authority of Thailand, organises an annual tourism festival.
Thailand Tourism Festival (TTF) Bangkok
The popular Thailand Tourism Festival (TTF) returned to Bangkok in January 2017 for the 37th time. Held in Bangkok’s famed Lumpini Park, the country’s largest domestic tourism fair transformed the park into a mini representation of the kingdom with replicas of landmarks and examples of cultural events from the five major regions of the kingdom – North, South, East, Central and the Northeast.
These five zones are intended to educate visitors about Thailand’s unique and varied regional cultures. The festival proved to be a huge draw for tourists, with visitors from all over the world attending in their thousands. Whilst at the festival they were treated to colorful processions, musical performances and tasty treats from every corner of the Kingdom.
So it would seem that this year’s festival was another huge success, helping to further establish Thailand’s credentials as one of the top tourist destinations in the world whilst also promoting and celebrating the unique cultural heritage of its five main regions.
