Angkor Wat is the most famous ancient temple site in Cambodia and one that you cannot miss when you visit the beautiful country of Cambodia.

The magnificent Angkor Wat is in Cambodia’s northern province of Siem Reap, extending over 400 square kilometres and is one of the most important archaeological sites of Southeast Asia. The Angkor Archaeological Park contains remains of 72 temples and the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, from the 9th to the 15th century. They include the famous temple of Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom and the Bayon temple.

Angkor Wat is a major site exemplifying cultural, religious and symbolic values, as well as containing high architectural, archaeological and artistic significance. According to inscriptions, the construction of Angkor Wat involved 300,000 workers and 6000 elephants and yet it still wasn’t fully completed.
