Highlights include a free fruit tasting tent, a durian speed-eating contest as well a vast number of stalls selling every variety of durian imaginable. So if you’re a fruit lover then this fair really is one not to miss.
Kolour Party in Bangkok
Next up, the ever-popular Kolour Party is returning to Bangkok to spice up your weekend, providing the perfect double venue to drink and dance away your weekend besides Bangkok’s mighty Chao Phraya River. Enjoy gourmet food, great drinks and plenty of top tunes from the Kolour Team’s renowned DJs.
The event will begin on May 21st from 2pm until late and will take place at Viva Aviv at the River City Shopping Complex in Bangkok. Tickets range in price from 300-650 thb.
Vesak Festival in Indonesia
Waisak is one of the holiest days in the Buddhist calendar, and is celebrated throughout the Buddhist world, but perhaps the most spectacular place to enjoy the annual celebration is at Borobudur, the world’s largest Buddhist temple, which is on the island of Java in Indonesia. The day marks Buddha’s birth, his enlightenment and his attainment of nirvana, and attracts thousands of pilgrims every year. The highlight of the event is a great moonlight procession of saffron-robed monks making their way from the local town to the Temple.
The year Waisak falls on Saturday, May 21.
