How to get to Chiang Mai

By Air: Domestic flights to Chiang Mai are easily available from Bangkok. Nok Air (NOK) offers more than 10 daily flights from Don Muang Airport (DMK) to Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX), and Thai Airways (TG) provides a daily service from Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK) almost every hour, with more flights available during the high season. By Bus: Buses leave for Chiang Mai regularly each day from Bangkok’s Northern Bus Terminal, with different prices and trip durations available. A journey on a government bus takes approximately 12 hours and costs between 400 and 800 THB. On a 1st class bus the journey lasts 9 hours, for a cost of around 800 THB. By Train: You can catch either a day train for 611 THB or an overnight sleeper train for 881THB to Chiang Mai from Bangkok Hualamphong. There are several daily trains departing between 7am and 10pm.
