Myanmar is one of the final frontiers for travel and tourism. Formerly Burma, the nation is rich in culture and history. Unspoiled because of history, it’s rich in natural beauty including beaches. As such, if you’re looking to unwind, Ngapali Beach is where you need to be. NOW is the time to go, get in and experience authentic Myanmar before the crowds do.

Once you arrive you’ll quickly understand you’re in a final frontier. Thankfully, democracy is taking hold after the historic elections in 2015. Aung San Suu Kyi led the National League for Democracy to victory changing the nation.

Travel to Myanmar – Electronic Visa’s Available

Today, it’s easier than ever to travel to Myanmar which was off-limits for decades. An electronic Visa (e-visa) program is now in place, eliminating red tape and streamlining the process.

Citizens from 100 countries qualify for the e-visa program. Currently, the cost of an e-visa is $50 USD for tourists. You may apply with the Myanmar Ministry of Labor, Immigration, and Population. Turnaround time is approximately three days.

NOTE: A digital passport photo is required for Myanmar e-visa processing. The digital photo must meet the following dimensions: Height of 4.6cm (or) 1.8 inches and Width of 3.8cm (or) 1.5 inches. Aside from your passport information, the name and address of your intended lodging is also required.

A wide range of international carriers serve Yangon International Airport (RGN), the primary port of entry for most travelers. Airlines with flights into Yangon (RGN) include AirAsia, Air China, Air India, All Nippon Airways (ANA), Bangkok Airways, Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, China Eastern, China Southern, Emirates, JetStar Asia, Korean Air, Malaysia Airlines, Myanmar National Airlines, Nok Air, Qatar Airways, SilkAir, Singapore Airlines, Tigerair, Thai AirAsia, Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air, Thai Smile, Vietjet Air, and Vietnam Airlines.

It’s easy to to reach Yangon (RGN) from Australia, Europe, and North America via regional airline hubs. This includes Bangkok (BKK) and (DMK), Doha (DOH), Dubai (DXB), Hong Kong (HKG), Seoul-Incheon (ICN), Singapore (SIN), and Tokyo-Narita (NRT).

Alternatively, Mandalay International Airport (MDL) is another gateway into Myanmar. However, international flights are limited to Bangkok Airways, China Eastern, Myanmar Airways International, Myanmar National Airlines, SilkAir, Thai AirAsia, and Thai Smile. As such, most international flights to/from Mandalay operate to Bangkok.

For domestic travel we suggest Mann Yadanarpon Airlines.

Where is Myanmar

Myanmar is in Southeast Asia and is easily reachable via commercial flight from Thailand. You may be familiar with the nation by its former name, Burma. India, China, Laos, and Thailand all share a border with Myanmar.
