Weekend break in Hua Hin
Found at 60 Naresdamri Rd, in Hua Hin city center Victor Guesthouse is a quiet haven just 50 meters from the beach and fishing pier. It’s also a two minute stroll to the famous night market. The guesthouse has a bar, coffee shop, and meeting facilities so it’s like your own private village. The whole premises had full renovations last year and best of all each of the 16 suites has a wifi, a flat screen TV, cable TV and a DVD player. And for animal lovers, pets are allowed to stay at Victor Guest House too! It’s the perfect place for those seeking charm, comfort and convenience. Hua Hin Floating Market opened in August 2011and is located in Hua Hin Soi 112, Hua Na-Tap Tai. Established on 40 rai of land consisting of 17 custom-built buildings and 140 rooms in a style made famous in the region.
Each of the beautiful buildings are named after cities in Prachuabkirikhan and Petchburi province. This is one of the area’s top destinations and has the feel of a traditional floating market while being clean, relaxed and entirely unique. Unlike any other floating market in Thailand, the whole place was built in a beautiful vintage style with elegant architecture and decoration. This is to give a laid-back and authentic feel to the location. All the shops are built around the central lake which harbors traditional boats that visitors can ride. Here at Da Marios Pizzeria and Restaurant they don’t do Italian by halves – this is home-style food of the highest quality that can instantly make you feel like you are in Rome. Positioned at 20 Naresdamri Rd this is where the local Italian expats come for their food.
The cosy and laid back eatery boasts good prices and even better food. This is why I want to find out their secret behind what makes them so superior. When you walk in you are greeted by warm staff and authentic Italian décor. But the litmus test of a pizzeria and Italian restaurant has to be the kitchen. Here, the sight of a large pizza kitchen teaming with toppings and dough is very welcome. The fact that a genuine wood-fired oven is chugging away behind the skilled pizza chefs is another clue as to why Da Mario’s is so well loved
