Media Trip to Macau, China with THAI Smile Air
iTravel has just returned from a whirlwind tour of Macau with Thai Smile Air, during which we got to experience its amazing attractions; we also got to spend some time touring Zhuhai, one of China’s most beautiful cities and the ‘gateway’ to Macau. This trip was the first Familiarisation trip with Thai Smile Air and featured 40 participants including VIP members from the Government, tour operators and the media.
Sheraton Hotel in Cotai, Macau
During our time in Macau we were lucky enough to stay in the Sheraton hotel in Cotai, where we got to tour the hotel, experience their colourful Dream Works Parade and meet some of our favourite movie characters at their ‘Shrekfast’ Room.
Attractions in Macau, China
We also got to see some of the Macau’s most famous attractions, including, on our second day in Macau, the Wine Museum, the Grand Prix Museum and Macau Tower. This soaring tower juts a dizzying 338m into the sky and is home to the remarkable 360 Café, where we enjoyed lunch with a truly unbeatable view! We also spent some time exploring Senado Square, with its elegant neo-classical architecture and Mediterranean-like feel, while dinner that night was at Café Litoral, a Macau culinary institution which serves up deliciously authentic Portuguese dishes.
Zhuhai on Guangdong, China
On the third day of our trip, 27 November, we headed off to Zhuhai, on the coast of Guangdong, to visit some of its most picturesque and well-known attractions, such as ‘Lover’s Road’ and The Fisher Girl Statue, which has a romantic legend attached to it. After a seafood lunch in Zhongshan we made our last exploration of Macau before checking out of the Sheraton and catching our flight back to Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
All in all, the past three days have been very successful, rewarding and full of fun, and it was a true privilege to take part in this familiarisation trip with Thai Smile Air – which also happened to be iTravel’s first official visit to the spectacular and vibrant ‘Monte Carlo of the Orient’!
