Meet Chef Three Michelin star Chef Thomas Bühner

Said to be “the German face of gastronomy,” Chef Thomas Bühler, hails from Osnabrück’s La Vie restaurant in Germany where he ensures every element of his cuisine embraces authenticity. The chef has three Michelin star’s under his belt, the first awarded as chef at La Table restaurant in Dortmund in 1996. Ten years later, in 2006, he was awarded the title of Gault Millau’s Chef of the Year and was bestowed a third Michelin star in 2011.

When it comes to fine dining, the Fireplace Grill and Bar InterContinental Bangkok is said to be the city’s premier steakhouse. The restaurant opened its doors in 1966 and to celebrate the 50th anniversary, Chef Thomas Bühner is visiting to elevate the experience.

Known for its steaks as well as seafood, this is a dining experience you can’t miss. Plus, no meal is complete unless complimented by the perfect wine, but no need to worry as the wine list is comprehensive.

Amuse bouche
Yoghurt foam | basil | beetroot | caviar

Mango gazpacho
red king prawn | Venus shell

Turbot | parsley infusion
potato tandoori puree

Bison filet
chicory | sauce foyot

Avacado | jasamine rice | miso carmel

The Mango gazpacho was a big hit as the main starter followed by the main course. The Bison filet served as the main dish was tender and tasty according to the guests. While many expected a “game” meat taste, many were surprised with just the opposite. Dessert was also a big winner with Avacaco, jasmine rice, and miso caramel.
