This is a free spirited place
This is a unique attraction with art galleries, classes and exhibitions and we talk to many artists there as well as founder Tawee Kesa-ngam. Express yourself and feel like a kid again when visiting this perfect tourist attraction in Hua Hin! Founded in 1998, this is Hua Hin’s original and much loved arts center. It is located at 81 Moo 14, Hin Lek Fai, which is a site in the hills just to the West of central Hua Hin.
The village itself has just over 10 rai, or 4 acres of land, and is an artistic enclave in a picturesque setting. So to find out more about why visitors can’t get enough of this unique destination we went to talk to the founder of this attraction. In fact the in residence artist’s work is so sought after, they often have exhibitions in Bangkok and art collectors from around the world flock to the artist village to snap up original creations. And what makes the village so unique is the sheer mount of talented Thai artists they have there.
This is a free spirited place where anyone can come and be creative and not have to worry about being judged or graded on their work. The high season is from October till April, but they are open year round and a very special time to visit is during Loi Kratong Festival in November where you can hand make your own banana leaf Kratongs! I think the secret to the artist village is that everyone told us that when you are here, you feel like a child again and you can play! And of course we made sure we had our share of playing too.
