Travel Along the Borders to Find Preah Vihear Temple
Ever heard of Preah Vihear temple? If you haven’t and you are heading to Cambodia for a holiday, don’t go past this amazing temple. The area was placed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the 7th July 2008. The temple dates to the first half of the 11th century AD.
The impressive temple lies just 100m from the border of Thailand, a border that was created at the end of the Second World War. The temple bears the scars of Cambodia’s troubled past and during 2011 it was damaged during skirmishes linked to the long-running border dispute with Thailand, however the site is safe to visit and it is still well preserved, mainly due to its remote location.
