Shangri-La Hotel, Bangkok brings out guests inner super hero

Charity Christmas Lighting

Christmas, as you know, is a time for giving and for thinking of others who may be less fortunate than yourself. This festive season, Bangkok’s Shangri-La hotel is seeking to bring joy to the lives of underprivileged and disadvantaged children by raising money for the Community Children Fund (or CCF) Foundation, which is under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
But this my friends is no ordinary fundraiser, for ordinary people. No, this is for real life super heroes. But you don’t have to be the caped crusader, be able to fly or even be able to shoot sticky webs from your wrists to take part; you simply have to visit the hotel during December and support the charity and its wonderful, life-changing work by purchasing specially created, delicious gingerbread super hero cookies, which are two for just 500 baht.

All those who buy the special cookies are also invited to write messages of good will on golden star shaped Christmas cards, which are then hung from the hotel’s Christmas tree in the main lobby. We caught up with the General Manager of the Shangri-La to learn more about how they came to support this ‘Super Hero Charity Christmas Tree’ initiative

Finally, our super generous super heroes are encouraged to share news of their generosity on social media, by uploading pictures of themselves in front of the Christmas tree, complete with the hashtag #ShangrilaSuperhero. We caught up with these super heroes and they agreed to give us their views on this charitable event obviously on the condition that we kept their true identities a secret!
