Thailand: Let’s Party!

Thailand’s Smile is definitely back!

The event began with the official welcome for the Thailand BFF Mega Fam trip where more than 900 travel media, bloggers, celebrities and travel industry executives from 47 countries were welcomed in style at the Centara Grand Hotel in central Bangkok. This was one of the biggest familiarisation trips ever hosted by the Thai tourism industry so that the message that Thailand is ready to welcome all visitors could be shared around the world.

The guest of honour was Admiral Narong Pipatanasai, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy and Deputy Chief of the National Council for Peace and Order who oversees the tourism industry. The international guests were then led to the Ratchaprasong Area where the roads had been shut down for two days for the Thailand Happiness Street Festival. This is where the fun really began! The opening parade was a dazzling mix of dance, beauty queens and modern Thai music.

A concert with some of Thailand’s most famous stars then began and I can tell you the fans were not shy to show their appreciation! Children, teenagers, tourists and adults all joined together for the shows as well as the street food, craft and fashion stalls all in the same area. This was a fantastic event and an even better way to show the world Thailand’s Smile is definitely back!
