The team attended the opening ceremony and Forum for tourism. Sitting with eyes and cameras towards the stage everyone watched as numerous speakers came and talked about tourism trends in Thailand and the GMS.

The first to speak was the Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Kingdom of Thailand, H.E. Mrs. Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul. Her passion and drive is something that is truly inspiring to watch as she emotionally talked about developing the tourism industry for Thailand so that it will become the best in the world. The way she talked is refreshing and genuine as she has a deep desire to make the tourism successful in Thailand so that it will benefit everyone.

Mr. Mason Florence, the chairman of the world’s 50 best restaurant academy followed by speaking about global trends in Gastronomy, the practise of choosing, cooking and eating good food.

Professor David Beirman a senior lecturer from the University of NSW, Australia, talked about Tourism Crisis Management. His specialist areas of research are tourism risk, crisis and recovery management and destination marketing.

Last to speak was Ms. Sarah Mathews from the Head of Destination Marketing in Thailand talked on the topic of Digital Age: E-Commerce Platform. She is the current chairperson of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA).

There is a great prospect in the development of the Tourism industry in Thailand and the GMS that will continually grow and prosper with these people and many other influential people leading the way.
