Phanom Rung, the Ancient Glory
Phanom Rung is one of the largest and most diverse National Parks in Thailand. It has the best restored Khmer monuments in Thailand and is also one of the oldest.
Located in Buriram province which is in the north east of Thailand, Phanom Rung is built on an extinct volcano. It was constructed in Angkor style during the 10th until the 13th century and was originally a Hindu religious site but later became a Buddhist one.
