Explore the Oldest Temple in Bangkok

 

Temple has been a very important place for Thai people since ancient times, there are a few temples that has been here for hundreds of years and one of it is called Wat Pho.

Wat Pho (the Temple of Reclining Buddha) was founded in the seventeenth century, making it the oldest temple in Bangkok. King Rama I, the founder of Bangkok, installed many statues and artifacts that were recovered from Ayutthaya. The temple was turned into a learning center in 1832 and is equate as being the first university in Thailand.
